If anxiety is one of the reasons you cannot sleep, go easy on the higher THC strains. They pack a punch and can induce sleep, but excessive dosage can increase anxiety for some. Try a strain with some CBD in it to counter the anxiety effects if you are prone to them.
Aged cannabis tests slightly higher in cannabinol, and as such can induce sleep a lot more than fresh flower. It may not sound as enjoyable, but the effects can be worth it. The rate of degradation can be as high as 0.3% per year with oxygen-rich, warm environments, which is not the ideal storage condition for cannabis.
Edibles help you sleep longer. While smoking and inhalation of cannabis brings much faster effects, edibles last a lot longer, therefore letting you enjoy a longer sleep. Remember to go slow and start small though, as too much can make you too sleepy too fast!
